Z97 Motherboards Listed: Now in USA, Taiwan, and EU

Despite being nowhere near the official release date, it would seem that retailers have jumped the gun. We reported earlier that a retailer in China has started to list Intel’s next generation of chipset-based motherboards, but now this has spread to EMEA, APAC and North America. The lists include detailed un-doctored images of each motherboard, with pricing. Each retailer seems to be doing it differently, for example Newegg state that they have models ‘in stock’, whereas Aria.co.uk are listing their models for pre-order.
Currently at Newegg, we have the following available:
- USD $260: MSI Z97 MPower Max AC
- USD $250: ASUS Sabertooth Z97
- USD $200: MSI MPower

Interesting enough, these are all GIGABYTE models, and the naming of these coincides with what we believe to be MSI’s product range as well, perhaps confusing the matter. Notice that ASRock seem missing from these lists.
It would be interesting to see if the retailers will actually ship today if you ordered. Those specifically with ‘pre-order’ mentioned might wait until the launch date, but some seem to be freely listing ‘in-stock’. I have a feeling that other retailers in each of these regions might start listing their stock in response.

Additional: It would seem that motherboard manufacturers are also starting to list all their specifications on their websites. Users can see the whole range for ASUS today, and no doubt GIGABYTE, ASRock and MSI will follow suit.

Still rocking a P67 here, and a trusty 2500K...As a part time gamer whose next most intensive usage case is the occasional Lightroom/Premier Elements workload, the CPU/mobo market just hasn't been very interesting the last few years. Shouldn't Thunderbolt have taken off by now?
I'm not sure even a big SATA upgrade and new drives would prompt me to upgrade, the two 830 128GB drives in RAID are working pretty well (only went RAID cause i got a clearance deal on the second one).

It is a sad state of affairs when the discussion of a "new generation" of motherboards revolves mostly around a debate as to which currencies should have been included.Separately, is it common for launches/rollouts to be managed so poorly? It seems like the news of / release of these boards and chipsets has been dribbling out forever, with any eventual launch seeming less and less imminent, relevant, or an actual event. If it had been my company that put time and effort into this rebadge / refresh, I'd be fairly annoyed with my marketing department at this point.

oh, nice.gigabyte finally fixed their socket location for their mITX boards. That was a major shortcoming for their 7 and 8 series mITX boards.

I'm confused... I thought the Z97 chipset was meant for Haswell refresh and Broadwell...? Would these motherboards accept current Haswell CPUs?Also a side note, Newegg today is showing the same motherboards as a week ago, but now they have additional Z97 with Release Date 5/11. So maybe they really are shipping the Z97s already?
