Performance

As this is the only 64MB GeForce 2 GTS card we have tested to date, there is no way to compare the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB to other 64MB GeForce 2 GTS cards. We suspect, however, that this card represents the general performance of the whole 64MB GeForce 2 GTS line.

The overclockabilty of the RAM seemed to be high, typical of Hyundai RAM chips, however the low maximum core speed keeps the card from scoring higher.

Price

The $420 retail price on the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB is about the same price we have seen other manufacturers quoting. The card can, however, be found for significantly less online, making it seem desirable.

Drivers

The 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB essentially uses NVIDIA reference drivers, keeping it right in the middle of the pack.

Features

The 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB includes both TV-out as well as DVI-out connections, making it rather feature rich. Too bad that the RAM heatsinks are more of a novelty than a feature.

Retail Availability

The 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB seems to have already almost saturated the market. From CompUSA to Best Buy to online stores, the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB seems to be easy to get.

Documentation & Software Bundle

The documentation included with the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB nothing special and does not include some of the advanced descriptions we have seen in other packages. It is, however, in hard print so that the guide can be consulted if the computer is not working.

The software bundle on the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB is essentially nonexistent. Besides the packaged software DVD decoder, the package only includes a few demos, something that we are used to seeing on budget cards, of which the 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB is not.
